My name is Aleksandr Kolmakov

And this is the blog where i document how
I build data systems that actually work in production.

With 10+ years as a Senior Python and Data Engineer, I've spent my career turning messy requirements or massive datasets into something useful - scalable backend architectures, MLOps frameworks, and data pipelines that survive contact with reality. I write about the stuff that breaks, the decisions that seemed obvious in retrospect, and the hard-won lessons from building systems at scale.

But here's what drives the work: I believe the most important problems for technology to solve are ecological. As a diver and marine enthusiast, I dedicate my technical expertise to projects that support environmental preservation. Whether I'm building tools for underwater fauna research or documenting technical deep-dives (both kinds - pun intended), my goal is ensuring that engineering logic is built for the long term. And the best way to learn long-term architecture? Look at nature - it's been running in production for millions of years.
